A little trick I like to use to make my days much more pleasant is to find little, simple pleasures and sprinkle them throughout my day.
They’re not big things, but each simple pleasure can translate to a great day if you use them right.
So in the morning, I might have a cup of coffee, and sip it slowly to enjoy it fully. I might read a gripping novel, and revel in the world of fiction. I might watch the sun come up, and marvel at the world in pastel hues.
In the shower, closing my eyes, and just let the cool water run over me
Yeah, You get the idea — these are little things, and don’t really cost a thing (or not much, anyway), but they are tremendously gratifying. I’ve just described some of the things I might do to start off my day, but the possibilities are endless, and can be done throughout the day.
I thought it would be fun to compile a list of simple pleasures, to give you all some ideas of what I mean, and to spark other ideas of your own. Of course, you can probably come up with a thousand more, and it should also be noted that one person’s pleasures aren’t always pleasures for others.

Psychic Power
Great ideas!
Waking to a clean house, mmmmmmmm:)
Simple pleasures? What a list?
Not a single thing was missed!
But I'm sure I can out-do you,
I'll send my list (short one) to you!
I am old, I've lived life well,
So there's not much else to tell.
I've had excitement, good food, love,
(Multiplications of the above).
My children are kind, grandchildren great;
There are still things to anticipate.
Life's not perfect but could be worse
If I couldn't write about it in verse!
I love being lazy too, but more more importantly, not feeling guilty being lazy!
I think you've practically listed everything:-) Thanks for sharing.
But just to be sun kissed every morning as I awake is already a blessing.
Cheers!
Wonderful ideas..i love them all..i love chocolate, music, beach, iced tea et all.
Wow, just reading that list makes me feel relaxed!
Sometimes, if I'm feeling down, I will write "Ten Things To Be Thankful For Today." Often I don't stop at ten.
Praying and reading the Bible helps me more than anything.
"I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)
"Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased." (Psalm 4:7, KJV)
You know I think this is a great post.
It is so easy in life with stress and so on, to lose sight of the little things that make us more relaxed happier, enjoy life, etc.
I know for me sometimes it is like I can't find the time to do simple pleasures, but that's what they are simple and there is no reason we can't find time to do so many things you listed.
A lot of things we are already doing it just is how we do them that makes it more enjoyable and not taking any of it for granted.
you have simply covered most of the simple pleasures in life. what a wonderfull list, knowing that you have written that, i can help but think that you must be a wonderful person
Pretty awesome post.
Thanks for brightening my day
All are good. Unfortunately, it's true that so many of our pleasures involve food.
I enjoyed this list. There are so many ways to appreciate the small things in life. Just submitted this post to digg.
